Anchorlift Chain Stopper - Bow Anchor Chain Lock, Fits 1/4" to 1/2" Chain

The Anchorlift Chain Stopper mounts at the bow to lock the anchor chain in place once the anchor is set, transferring the holding load off the windlass gypsy and onto the deck hardware where it belongs. Running a windlass under constant anchoring loads accelerates wear on the gearbox and clutch; a chain stopper takes that strain away during normal anchoring and while underway in a seaway, letting the windlass do what it is built for: raising and lowering the anchor. Built from corrosion-resistant components sized for the chain diameters most common on recreational and light commercial boats, the Anchorlift Chain Stopper bolts to the bow deck ahead of the windlass and accepts chain links directly, so no wiring, splicing, or wear-part replacement is needed to get it working.

The Anchorlift Chain Stopper is available in two chain-size ranges. Measure your anchor chain link diameter (the thickness of the wire forming each link) before ordering: the 91404 covers 1/4 inch to 5/16 inch chain, and the 91405 covers 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch chain. Installing a chain stopper sized outside your chain's actual diameter will not seat and lock properly, so confirm chain size against your windlass gypsy or chain manufacturer spec sheet first.
