The Fortress FX Series is a family of lightweight, high-holding-power fluke anchors engineered from a hardened aluminum-magnesium alloy instead of plain steel. This alloy construction makes every anchor in the line rustproof, easy to handle, and far lighter than a steel anchor of equivalent holding power, while still delivering exceptional grip in soft bottoms like mud and sand. Each FX model is sized to a specific boat length range, from compact daysailers up to larger cruising and offshore vessels, so you can match the anchor to your boat without carrying unnecessary weight on the bow. All FX anchors disassemble into flat components for compact storage in a locker, cockpit, or storage bag, and the fluke angle can be adjusted to further increase holding power in extreme conditions.

Choose your FX model based on your boat's overall length: the FX-7 suits boats 16 to 27 feet, the FX-11 suits 28 to 32 feet, the FX-16 suits 33 to 38 feet, the FX-23 suits 39 to 45 feet, and the FX-37 suits 46 to 51 feet. If your boat falls near the edge of a range, or you anchor in extreme conditions or heavier displacement vessels, sizing up to the next model is recommended for extra holding power and a larger margin of safety.
