For emergency use, close the seacock and remove the quick release plug while the engine is running; excess bilge water is then pumped overboard through the engine's raw water pump (a Groco BSA can be added to pump out remote bilge locations). For winterization, close the seacock, remove the quick release plug, and insert the included service adapter so antifreeze can be pumped into the cooling system. For system flushing, close the seacock and insert the service adapter so dockside water can flush the cooling system with the engine running at idle speed.
