Pettit Captains Satin Sheen Varnish V-975 is a polyurethane varnish formulated to enhance interior woodwork with a soft, satin finish. The varnish is applied in thin coats of no more than 3 wet mils per coat for best results. Each coat should be allowed to dry overnight before sanding or recoating. Applying several thin coats generally produces a better result than fewer thick coats, and thin application also helps prevent drips. If dust settles into a wet coat, let it dry fully, sand back just enough to remove the contamination while overlapping the surrounding finish, then apply a new coat to blend the appearance. For thinning or spraying, use 120 brushing thinner or 121 spraying thinner, sold separately.
