Toon-Brite Aluminum Boat Polish & Restorer (C1000) is a metal polishing compound formulated to bring back the shine on aluminum boats, pontoons, houseboats, trailers and canoes. It is also effective on brass, copper, stainless steel, chrome, and most other metal surfaces, making it a versatile choice for general metal detailing on the water and around the trailer.
Unlike wax, which simply lays down a protective coating, this polish is a compound designed to remove a microscopically thin layer of surface material, cutting through dullness and light oxidation to leave a flat, reflective finish. It can be worked in by hand for small areas and touch-ups, or applied with a buffer pad for larger sections such as pontoon logs or hull panels, cutting the labor time considerably. While buffing, a black film may appear on the metal; this is expected, as the polish is pulling pigmentation back out of the surface during the restoration process, and it buffs away to reveal the like-new finish underneath.
Each unit is an 18 oz. Jar of the polish and restorer compound. It is not recommended for use on anodized aluminum, since the compound is intended for bare or oxidized aluminum and similar metals rather than anodized coatings.
